Overview

Oikos Storage Facility engaged GPS Marine and Civil Services (GPS MACS) to undertake repairs to Jetty 2 following a vessel strike earlier in the year.

Jetty 2, which was extended in 2018, is a deep-water fuel transfer jetty with the capacity to accommodate larger vessels, including LR2 tankers, up to 120,000 DWT with a draft up to 14.5 metres.

As part of the scope, GPS MACS was responsible for survey and inspection works to establish the extent of the damage sustained, as well as the fabrication and replacement of all damaged elements, including steelwork and electrical fixtures.

Working from the GPS Boxer Crane Barge, GPS MACS completed the onsite works working around Oikos shipping requirements, resulting in a jetty closure time of just 14 days, reducing the impact on the fuel supply into the terminal.
