The overall Tideway scheme is a new combined sewage storage and transfer tunnel that shall run from Acton in west London to Abbey Mills Pumping Station in east London, at a total length of 25km and diameter of 7.2m. Working in the central section for Laing O’Rourke / Ferrovial Agroman JV, members of our MACS team were Engineers and Project Managers for the Albert Embankment site. GPS Marine are providing the towage service for the project across multiple sites.

Our management team held the roles of Marine Project Manager, Marine Logistics Manager, AP Lifting Operations, Temporary Works Coordinator and Site Managers.

Tidal River Thames

Environmental

Project is improving water quality and reducing sewage outflows into the Thames. Re-using excavated material to restore landfill sites to nature reserves.

Conservation and Regeneration

The scale of the Tideway project and its place at the heart of one of the world’s greatest cities means we have an historic opportunity to leave a positive, lasting legacy for London. The project has made more than 50 legacy commitments and many of them will be profound and long-lasting. They include creating new public spaces in the Thames – the first new land in London for generations; we’re raising the bar for health, safety and wellbeing in the construction industry; and using the river to transport material on an unprecedented scale, bringing jobs and skills back to the river.
